Dear Wiley-
Why is it women who hang around each other a lot start having their periods at the same time?
Dear S&M-
Are you female? Keep talking to me. We should talk everyday. I have every other woman who reads this blog lined up with my time of the month. They hang out with my Aunt Flo.
It’s the same with men and women. Some like to travel in packs. These packs start dressing the same, eating the same food, having the same tastes. So naturally, chicks have their periods in unison. Misery loves company. Eat Midol is a community activity. Men just have daisy chains. Go figure.

I really believe that to be the truth. I’ve had many flatmates, always male, and my period was disastrous. Then I moved in with a girl, and we started functioning like a Swiss clock.

it is real. There is a pheromone that comes from when we were closer to Gibbons and orangutangs. In some ape families, the females hang in groups and the males go from group to group in a pack. it’s important for the femals to be in estros at the same time, so they would get in sync with a hormone. it’s not as prominant in humans, but it’s still there in trace amounts, and some females are more in tune with it than others.
